I did not on mine, as my tubs are not in contact with any of the seams. I saw no benefit. Depending on what you are keeping, i have some gtps and if i would change anything it would be to apply an frp or related product to the underside of the shelf. My rack is made of melamine and i can see potential problems in the future. Clint
