Snapping Turtle

kathy1313 Dec 31, 2004 01:14 PM

We have a snapping turtle he just alittle over 5 and I have searched all kinds of sights to find out if we are feeding him enough or to much. He always seems like he's hungry. His tank sits next to my computer so he spends alot of time in the corner closest to me watching me, if I get up he's, almost seems like he's dancing around the tank, he also does that when I walk into the room, is he telling me he's still hungry or what? Can someone please give me some advice on this. We have had him since he was a baby. Thanks!

Feed it until it takes a little while between bites, when it does that, it will show it's not as hungry as it was.

Thanks for the advice, but here is the problem, he always wants food, I swear he has a hollow leg or something. We feed him a couple mice a day and try to keep goldfish in the tank with him. I know they say to feed them vegies, but he won't eat them, just pulls the stuff apart and makes a mess. So I guess we are the ones that need to make the decision as to when he's had enough? Sorry not trying to be stupid but I'm really baffled on this, if you have anymore input that could help me I would really apperciate it. Thanks
