Reptibark or Aspen bedding??????

Chameleon996 Dec 31, 2004 01:55 PM

I think I want to put substrate in my larger beardies cage. I have always kept him on paper towels or newspaper, but now that he is almost full grown I figured it would be safer and more atractive to use a substrate. I do not want to use sand of any kind. I was thinking reptibark is kinda big but not what his natural hibitat would be like. Aspen bedding would be closer to sand but the pieces are smaller. I will take any suggestions.

Avoid the barks/wood chips, they are a death sentence if they are eaten. As much as I dislike sand, it's a better choice than them.

Aspen tends to matt down into a soft bedding but being small and a bit dusty, it can easily be eaten by the dragon. Instead of paper towel switch to plastic table cloths or non stick shelf liner for variety. Both come in many colors and patterns. Tiles can be used as well but they can be porous and a pain to clean, unless they have a seal coat on them
