Lucy's

worldsocold Dec 31, 2004 08:45 PM

Question, I was informed that breeding to Mojaves to each other will give you Lucy's? Also, Mojvaes and Lessers LOOK EXACTLY ALIKE IN PERSON, They both carry the same gene's, so why buy a lesser for $50k why not go buy a pair of mojaves for $25k or whatever market price is, and do it the easy less expensive way.

I have seen both in person. I will be the first to tell you that, in my opinion, lessers and mojaves do resemble each other. They don't look EXACTLY alike, but they do share some similarities. Heck, for some straight from the man himself info, go to Ralph Davis' website and check it out, and be sure to check out the Journal as well. Get his take on Phantoms, Mojaves, Lessers, Butters, and Plattys. If you look at this months Journal you'll find some info on them for sure. They're not "identical", but who knows....by the time this all gets figured out, the traits might be variances of the same thing, or.... who knows. But, I don't think he was entirely MISINFORMED! But, then again, maybe you know the secrets behind all these morphs that not even the breeders themselves know for sure yet????

IMO Lessers look nothing like Mojaves... Lessers may resemble Butters... But not Mojaves

LOL, phantoms look like mojaves, lessers look like butters, and yellow bellies.....HOW DID THEY EVER KNOW TO BREED TWO OF THESE SNAKES TOGETHER???? That's my question? If not HOW, WHY would they say, "Hey, let's breed these two to each other". Unbelievable result, but you have to wonder how many are out there in some kids bedroom playing the role of family pet? Take care

Mojave's and Lessers do not look the same but will both produce the white snake.

As for price on lessers, be patient, the market will adjust pricing accordingly

Yes........Both Mojave X Mojave and Lesser X Lesser = Lucy, however, in my opinion the Mojave and Lesser look totally different.....and the Lessers have produced cleaner lucys.

I have neither animal....but have looked at every pic I could find and follow the events closely. I have seen both Mojaves and Lessers and the original Platty Daddy in person. They look very very different.

Now one might convince me that Phantoms and Mojaves are the same. There patterns are identical with the slight color edge to the Mojave line.
