Glass Aquariums

coolj9688 Dec 31, 2004 11:10 PM

I am considering purchasing a chameleon. In my research i have found some web sites that caustion against glass aquariums and others and say they are ok as long as you take good care and keep it clean. I was wondering if a glass aquarium would be acceptable and if so what size tank should i get for an adult?

thanks

no, aquariums arnt very good cages for chameleons(unless they're babies, some people keep babies in aquariums until they are large enough for a screen cage)...chameleons need lots of ventalation and should be housed in a screened encloser. most people keep their chams in either aluminum screen cages(i find these the best), reptariums(lots of people use these, some hate em some love em) or in cages they've built, which isnt to hard to do. you can go look through the photo gallery or search the forums to find examples of each to see which you like the best. hope this helps.
