Snow/Leusistic

miskittlegrl Jan 01, 2005 01:54 AM

Hi. I was wondering if there is a difference between snows and leusistics? And also if there is which is whiter? Also does any one have any for sale and what is the normal price range for one? My friend is looking for one (possibly female). Thanks
Meghan

Snows are predominantly white but also have light pinks and blues in them. Luestics are entirly white. Luestics are extremely expensive and usually got for 600-700 dollars; if you are looking for cheaper dragons that also have white coloring pick a snow. There really isnt that much of a diffrence between the two but luestics are much more expensive.

There are asctually some huge differances between the two..... The main one being the outcome of the offspring (aside from price).... When you breed two snows together not all the babies will turn out top be white.. there will be a variance in the lighter to darker dragons. However, if you breed a leucistic to a leucistic you should get 100% white offspring with clear nails.... Also the snow/hypo babies hatch up to an inch and a half larger than most bloodlines do.

If you are looking for a pet... I would just give Kevin a call and tell him you would like a nice, white snow for a pet... If you plan on breeding.... there are several things that are characteristic of each bloodline that you should consider before purchase.......

Hi Robert and Justin,
Thanks for replying. My friend would like to breed and I think a leusistic, altho very beautiful, is way out of the price range! We would both like to possibly breed ours together (Mine is a pure normal, both parents were normals) and since Mine is a normal we figured she should get a different color. She also really liked the red/Golds that were seen at sandfire dragon ranch's website. Does anyone have any pics of snows? Thanks
Meghan

If you plan on breeding and it is a first time venture I would recomend the hypo/snow line.... The hatchlings are larger and are easier to feed and get them to thrive. You can probably pick up a female for around 150 bucks from www.dragonsdenherp.com

there are also pics to view...

One thing you should consider before breeding is the market for a snow/normal cross... Are you going to be able to sell all of them or for that matter even afford to raise them to the point you can sell them? Just something to think bout not trying to say you can't handle it... More than likely you will end up having to wholesale most of them out...

Actually you may be able to help me! I am currently getting ready to go to college and i wont have room for my beardies. I purchased them from dragonsden.com like they are telling you to and they are snow/german giant. If you want a female I have a healthy will be 1 yr. old in march. She is currently hybrinating so i will try to get you some pics soon, i might have to wake her up. I also have a male to so i could get you both of them if you wanted. Email me at Ginter24@wowway.com and we can talk some more. Here is a picture of what they looked like when i bought them but they are totaly different and much much whiter colors now.
