New Owner To An African Pixie Bullfrog-Question about tongs

cheermom46184 Jan 01, 2005 07:56 AM

I've been reading some of the questions and answers here, and one of them were about tongs. Should I be feeding my frog only by tongs? And if so, what kind do I use so that he doesn't get hurt when he lunges for the food?

When people mean tongs they are actually referring to large tweezers that you can get from various reptile supply dealers (as tongs is a shortened form of Pilstrom tongs and are unweildy to use when feeding large anurans). These can be 8 inches or longer. The benefit to using tweezers is that you can keep the frog from ingesting any of the substrate and reduce the risk of impaction.

I personally prefer "hemostats", you can find them at beanfarm.com.
