If any of you has read any of my previous posts about how I got my two BP boys... Then maybe one of you can help me out with some info.
I live in the Racine area of Wisconsin. And as far as I can tell, there's maybe one rescue shelter out here. What I would like to do is find out everything that I would have to do to maybe start my own shelter. Who I would have to contact and the like. If there is anyone out there that may be of some service to me on this quest, please feel free to contact me.

Contact your local animal shelters and let them know that you are willing to take the snakes that are turned into them, or they happen to have to remove from some unsuspecting persons homes. Also let any other herp rescues and societies in the area know. There are also a variety of internet directories and pet finders that advertise rescues as well, check your area. You can also let your local vets know as they end up with some dropped on their door steps. You'll also want to be prepared and have a local herp vet check out animals you receive as they will most likely be in need of some vet attention. If you are running a rescue you may find a vet that will discount or comp you the charges. Remember you'll need to quarantine these animals from your personal collection!
