I've kept both burms and red tails among bloods, balls, kings and corns. All excellent as pets. It seems you would do better with the smaller pythons or a red tail. Good pythons are olives acrpets and bloods. Olives and carpets are on the slender more sleek and the blood is a fat a@# impressive heavy bodie snake. Red tails are in between the others while getting long enough to satisfy the LARGE desire but not too sleek and not too fat which will satisfy the BIG desire. Bloods can take some work sometimes but are great snakes. Redtails are just your all around great "big" snake. If you do want to go for the really big boys go with the Burm stay away from Retics and rocks until you get some seriuos experience with big guys (they can be testy).
Just a little input from a guy who's been around the block. Hope it helps.
