I've read that a good substrate to use for monitors that allows digging is a mixture of sand and potting soil, in a 1:1 ratio. Do any of you use this mixture or anything like it? What type of sand is used? Is there any reason to be worried about impaction with this substrate? What exactly is the best way to mix the two materials? Any other tips/ideas? Thanks all.
