We've got an 80% Pinstriped Crested (named "UC"
back in April at about 2g. Some of the geckos that were around its same size when it arrived are now over 20g. "UC" however is just now topping the scale at 5g. We've kept it in every conceivable living situation and feeding schedule, nothing appears to make any difference.
It's small but otherwise seems healthy - I have no explanation for it, other than odd genetics.

I, too, have in my collection an oddball of sorts. I bought him back in July and he has grown very little since then. Granted, it is noticable when recollecting on past pictures, but its not as rapid growth I've seen in my others. There really is no explaination for it, aside from genetics. Is it bad? ...I doubt it. Does it affect breedability and health? ...We'll see in due time. I want to breed the little guy soon. He is showing more and more creamsicle traits with each passing day. I cannot wait to breed him to a nice orange or red!
Am I the only one who might consider that a "runt"? If you eventually breed these slow-bloomers, would you post how their offspring do? I'd be fascinated to learn whether that is passed on to offspring or is just a one-time-flukey thing affecting only the one. I think I would be hesitant to breed what I would call a runt but would find a home for it as "pet-quality".

A year ago I purchased 5 baby cresties from a breeder and they ranged from 2 weeks to 6 weeks old. The two week old one never really grew and we hand feed our cresties nightly.........so I know that he/she always had food offered and available nightly. It's clutchmate is 40 grams and she is now at 5 grams. Runt? Dwarf? I don't know. We have kept her as our "pet" and the only abnormal part to her is that she seems to have big eyes......

Thanks so much for the info, I guess I was just worrying. I just got a darkfire crested for Christmas and he was almost twice the size of mine. So it just got me thinking, thanks.
