feeding questions for pits...

chaoscat Jan 02, 2005 01:10 AM

I'm just curious if everyone here feeds their pits on a weekly schedule, or do you cut back on the feedings for adults? I've been doing so with all of the ones I'm not cooling for breeding. The only drawback is the high amount of waste they produce! I can certainly tell when its time to clean cages... phew!

For me.....I feed my younger pits once a week and the adult pits that are at their full length, once every other week. If I look at them, and they seem like they need to be fed sooner, then I will feed the adults once a week. Some of the younger ones, if their weight seems above average, I will skip that meal and wait the following week. I just eyeball the situation for the most part but keep the prementioned regimen.
