I've been thinking the same thing, so I can't give you much help but this is what I've found. I don't know if lobsters are a good choice, yes they breed like mad but they also climb, thus if any get out you will have roaches galore. I was thinking of getting death heads, but I can't find them online, and I also heard the orange heads were good but give off a stench. I doubt this helped any, I'm trying to learn the same things you are. Good luck!

I just got the dead heads and if you want to order what i got go to www.botarby8s.com the guy is really nice replies back on the same day or you can even call mine have not hatched any new eggs but some of the subadults are molting so that means there growing and my health dragon loves them

I have discoids and love them. Producing really nice. And from what I have read on the roach forum and searching the internet seems like I made a good choice. I also have lobsters that my dragon are eating now. With in about 4 months I went from 250 to 3000.

do the discords or the death heads have defensive odors? and do they climb glass ( i know the DH's dont..)

gtphale Jan 02, 2005 06:41 PM

Nope haven't noticed an odor at all with the Discoids and they do not climb that is why I picked them up. Cause I want my dragon to run and chase his pray again. With the lobsters I feed him with a really long pair of tweezers.
