Role for the Right Turtle in a Movie

turtlemovie Jan 02, 2005 08:12 AM

Hello and Happy New Year. I hope nobody feels this post falls into the category of advertising: hopefully this will be of interest to turtle enthusiasts.

I am a filmmaker currently in preproduction on a narrative film in which there is a small role for an attractive turtle. I don’t know very much about turtles and I’m hoping that someone might have suggestions about the best species or even be excited about their turtle being in a movie. For the images I hope to film I have in mind a turtle about 8 to 10 inches long crawling 3 or 4 feet across the carpet. It won’t be in a wet environment. (The turtle will not be harmed in any way). We will be filming in the New York City in the beginning of February and would only need the turtle for part of one day. If you can suggest what kind of turtle might work well or have a turtle locally that might be interested in the role please help! Please post here or contact me at turtlefilm (AT) yahoo (DOT) com Remove the (AT) and (DOT) and replace them with the right punctuation please. This helps keep spam away. Many Thanks.

since yer doing it in NY, dont ferget to put a red bandana around the turtle's eyes. hahaha

I'd use a RES-a really hyper one who'll walk like you want.
