This is Martha (red) and Stewart (blue) taking a bath 30 days ago, at which point Martha was 38 inches and Stewart was 30 inches.

This is when I got them last March:

And this is them today:

Your red tegu looks like a male ,not a female , and your blue looks like a female. Russ

I've been worried about that for a while. I'd hate to change their names so i'm gonna keep calling the red martha and the blue stewart regardless of what they both really are. Since martha does look very male I just hope stewart is really a female.

BTW, in the last set of photos, they had grown from 30inches and 38inches to 38 and 43 inches in 30 days.

You should wiegh them, and measure there snt to vent.. I`m pretty shure the red is a male ,and female is a blue. Put the blues measurments on the forume ,and I will compaire them to my Female Blue .Thanks Russ

38" Blue eh? Sounds Like you might have two males. Those are some good sized tegus. Your blue has a thick neck and relatively large head. I don't think Blues have as large of jowls compared to reds, so comparison between the two makes your blue seem female. But looking at your blue just as that, seems like a male to me. Are they the same age? Tale doesn't seem very thick near the vent. You picked a hard one to tell.

My blue female is tl 39-40".,snt to vent 14-15", And wieghs 6-7 lbs.I bet there blue is a female. Muture blue males can have big jowles also , not as big as a red but still pretty big. .Russ

But thats 38 inches with a previously cropped tail it appears (the solid black end). Do tails completely regenerate to the point where they would have been provided they not been cropped?

That and its fat neck leaves me thinkin its male. I'm taking wagers though if you're interested. I say its a male.

Taking wagers on the the playoffs all throughout too, eh.

If it is a blue male and its the same age as the red , the red would be bigger butnot the difference in the picture . I say it`s a female .I have seen Ron and Stellas large male blue tegus ,and they were about 12 lbs,and 4' long.As for betting ,Just for bragging rights . Take care Russ
