every now and then, but very rarely, there would be some sellers on kingsnake classifieds. In the month of May, there were two people selling a parson each. One was selling for 2,500 bucks, and the other is either the same, or even more. It is probabaly the most expensice chameleon you can get. Other than the classifieds, i don't see any website advertising parsons.

i have a friend in ottawa, who is getting 2.2 parsons in the next year from a breeder in toronto ... she is paying 900$ american for each one ... this is a more realisitic price than 2 500$, and yes, they are rare and rarely show up, but when they do, expect to pay between 900$ and 1 300$ ... anything more and you are getting taken
hope this helps

Parsoii go for alot of money, and 2,500 isnt all that non-realistic. Here in the UK they go for £500-1000, what is about £1000-£2000, But on the other hand, Parsonii Cristifer can go for 3 times that. I Have loved parsoniis for ages now but at my age i will not be able to meet their requirements. They need ALOT of water compared to the average panther cham, they need large food so Silkworms, Cockroaches and large feeder insects will be a Must have. 3 x 2 x 7 is a basic cage size for one, and this is for a single chameleon, allthough there size, parsonii is very delicate and vunerable to stress.

Jason,

It is obvious that you have no idea what your talking about on the pricing of Parsonii. The standard price on sub-adults to adults are $2000-$3000ea. Babies go for around $1200-$1500ea. If there truly was a person in Canada selling them for that cheap they are most likely not healthy animals or that person is in dire need of cash specially since Canada prices are ALWAYS higher than in the US and specially on that species. Hell if there is someone there that is selling sub-adults or adults that are 100% healthy for those prices I will take every single one that they can sell me at those prices.

Matt,

The Parsonii are not often offered for a few reasons, 1.) the are no longer imported, 2.)They do not fare well in captivity for the most part, 3.) they have such a long incubation period (18 months) and not many are produced in captivity because of the first reasons. They will always command a high price as they do now because of the problems associated with the successful keeping of the species. They are NOT a species for a beginner or intermediate Chameleon keeper, they should only be kept by Expert level keepers.
