German Giant and normal beardie enclosures

Patdf Jan 03, 2005 02:23 AM

Hello all,
I had posted previously and asked about housing size and keeping 3 beardies together in a 40x30 enclosure. After all your responses I will not house them together and only get one beardie for now. Is a 40x24 enclosure enough size for one adult. And could you use it for two if need be. And also does anyone have a picture or link that actually shows you the size different between the german giants and normal beardies, a side by side or in someones hand picture. And could I assume that the giant have the same disposition as the normal size beardies. I am making a custom stand that will have two 40x24 tanks minimun size. So since I want to have at least two beardies, and can't put them together I could get two and have seperated enclosures. So I would like to learn also about german giants. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Pat

A German Giant is only slightly longer than a normal full sized dragon.

like this:

normal adults 20 to 24 inches long
giants 24 to 30 inches long

not exact just a "kinda sorta" if you get my drift

what is very vsiualy different in photos is that the GG is "CHunky" has bigger bones, wider head, shoulders, and other stuff to match. you might say they are Dragon "Robustus".

the rest is very normal from what I have read here.

this female is HUGE compared to our normal sized male. She is just over 21 inches and TWICE as wide...just the size difference in their feet is amazing!

She is housed alone in a "48 X 24" and I would not want anything much smaller for her...our male has the same size tank and he lives like a king!

Do a search on the forum (just above the Post A New Message) and type in German, Giant I found lots of info and some side by side pictures.
