Hubby and I took our 2 brats to the lake this weekend. Well for the winter months, they've either stopped the dam or opened it,i forget which, anyhow, where theres usually water, for about 100 yards, there wasn't. Talk about luck for me. Rocks, nice flat pretty ones. And LOTS of drift wood. Anyhow,i scrubed and scrubed these rocks. I just got Fellas tank done and put him in when this pic was taken, about 10 minutes ago. I had to shut his lights off,to get the pics to take half way decent. Can anyone PLEASE look at these pics that follow this message, and tell my what type of Collared I have? I know these aren't the best pics, but is there anyway for someone to look and see.
This lizard is about 5 months old.
I just got this camera for Xmas.and I just can't figure out how to take good pics,of my lizard in its tank. It takes wonderful pics of everything else, but when it comes to my lizard, the pics never turn out good.
Anyhow, hope someone can tell me what type of lizard I have.
And any picture taking info would be great!!!

Well . . . I was going to take a picture or two of my collareds to show you, but the camera batteries died and I have to wait for them to charge (I need two sets!). I don't know what locale they're from, but your lizard looks very much like one of mine. I'm pretty sure they're C. collaris, but that covers quite a wide range, ya know?

As for your camera troubles, I'd recommend you try all the settings to see what they do. Having misplaced my owner's manual, I had to try that hit or miss method myself. Eventually I found the right zoom setting. On my camera (a Casio) there is a small symbol that looks like a flower. When I selected that setting my lizards instantly came into focus. Do you have a "flower" setting on your camera?

Playing with the light was another matter, but it works best for me if I use room lighting as opposed to the flash.

P.S. Here's a picture of Jazz from a few weeks ago. I think she looks a lot like Fella. (Forgive the huge size--I was still learning when I took it.)

Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Yes my camera has a flower thing to switch it to. When ever my lizard comes out of hiding,I'll try that and see how it does.
Thank you for informing me on this!!!!
Maybe one day I'll get this picture thing down, and get some better pics of Fella

a pretty C. collaris hard to see exact color, almost looks brownish, have to get a close up, kinda looks like a females color, heheheh.

Try turning off the heat light when you take the pic just leave the uv light on. Or take the pic during the day with no lights on and see what happens. Thing is you have all the light infront of you,(tank lights , flash) its washing out the color.

Have to play with the camera and lighting you will get it down. I still have difficult days with lighting. Some pics are good, some STINK !

Keep practicing on us!

I just always assumed that Fella was a male, till a couple weeks ago,and the orange spots showed up.

Thats what was aggervating me,Fellas color wasn't showing up.
Shes a REALLY pretty green, and with those orange spots, shes so beutiful.
I'll keep messing around till I get some great pics, then I'll post them for ya.
Thanks for the info. I may just take her out of the tank, and have hubby take pics of her in my hand, and see how that works.
Thanks!!

Yep it is much better, but I thought you wanted to take them in there.

Oh and the orange may just because you have a juvey (young collared they still get orange striping) its fades as they continure to get older, but at 5 months thats what your seeing.

Could be male or female. I though Fella looked brown. So yeah
POST AWAY more pics !
