How should i go about switching to killed prey?

make_urself Jul 03, 2003 09:24 PM

I know prekilled is the best for a snake, but heres the thing. Ive noticed that my snake is turned on primarily by the quick movement of a mouse. Ive tried rat pups with no luck. Ive stunned mice and still no luck. But throw in a nice white hopper and Bang! I really would like to go prekilled bc in the future the prey gets bigger and more defensive. I mean even the mice can do damage if freaked...but i keep a close eye when hes feeding just in case. What do u all suggest?

For starters I would switch to rats as soon as possible rat pups or small whatever your snake can eat. I had the same problem with my burm when I first got her what did was fed frozen thawed on hymostats or you could you barbecue tongs and keep moving them around it also helps if you skip a feeding so the burm is extra hungry. Hope it works for you
