What are the colored spots on beardies

Patdf Jan 03, 2005 05:21 PM

Hello,
I have noticed a number of times when looking at some of the morph beardies in the classifieds that on various parts of the body there are spots which actually look like a drop of paint. Are these coming up from the photos or are they possibly due to a large concentration of pigments in one area. I'm looking to purchase a sexed pair so I'd like to know if this is something you may consider to avoid due to passing on to the offspring. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Pat

It's usually fingernail polish or sharpie marker. It's a color code that breeders use to identify sex, clutch, etc (it usually only makes sense to the breeder).

I avoid fingernail polish or permanent inks. These give of fumes. I use child safe, non-toxic acrylic paint. You can get it in craft store or walmart. Just look for NON-TOXIC acrylic paint. I dab it on with a q-tip.
