Opinion on a diet for beardeds please

ATLherp2131 Jan 03, 2005 07:49 PM

My brother is going off to college and gave me all his beardeds. He has always fed them crickets and veggies with greens. I was recentley talking to a breeder and she brought up that she only feeds her babies under 9 months crickets and after that feeds them superworms and greens. Does everyone agree with feeding their adult dragons only superworms and greens is an offitiant diet?

thanks,

Well, it depends on the ratio of the two. For an adult dragon, mainly greens (mustard, collard, turnip greens) with supers on the side is okay. Variety is the key for a happy, healthy dragon(s). Try roaches, silkworms, and other things as well. Good luck!!

only feeding an animal one protein source is never a good idea, especially in a species we know so little about as far as nutrition is concerned. Feed variety, that's your best move. Crickets AND superworms.

Also feed your bugs for a day or two before they are to before they're going to be eaten, that way their tummies are full of good things too.
