2 males.....1 tank>>> more...

MacArthur Jan 03, 2005 07:54 PM

Hey, I already have one male crested, in a 20-29 gallong high tank. I am going to be getting another male soon although I may end up with a female, but my question is this: can i have 2 males in one enclosure if I devide it for them down the middle? Or will seeing eachother throught the plexglass stress them too much? Thanks in advance,

I don't see why not, but in a 20%2 would be pretty small. And a 29%2 would be quite narrow . Maybe just go with a 30 gal. (or 2 cages...lol) Good luck with your new guy!

Well, I'm not completely sure on the tank's size, as i got it at a junk store, but now that I look at it, it could well be a 30 gal. I have also measured out a devider, and there looks to be enough room for each gecko, and now I might get as female so they could live together. (I also have breeding supplies)

I currently have 2 adult male Cresteds in a 29 gallon vivarium. The two of them are over 18 months old, but have never seen a sexually mature female. I have not seen any signs of aggression or stress (biting, tail-loss, lack of feeding response, etc.) in either animal. Both are full-bodied and healthy. So long as your animals are the same size and you don't introduce a female they should get along just fine, even without a divider.

Well, my one male now has lived alone all his life, so im thinking he may be teritorial over has enclosure when I introduce the other male...

I have a 65 gallon reptarium that I just divided into three sections. I'm waiting for my geckos to become large enough to move to this new enclosure.
