My Male Won't Breed

LoganWrong Jul 03, 2003 09:41 PM

I have a Sandfire Male who was born exactly on April 16, 2000. I recently introduced a normal phase female into the enclosure. He will run up to her, blacken his beard, bob his head, and he will even run up and bite the nape of her neck. She will do her little slow bobs telling him she is willing to breed. The only problem is, they won't copulate. He wount mount her, he does everything right except for the most important part. The enclosure is 5 ft. long, 2 ft. wide, and 2 1/2 ft. tall. The temp. gradient is perfect and their enclosure is elaborately set up. What is the problem? I have already bought a hoverbator and set up for babies, I need them to breed. Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you cycle him? IT is helpful. Also time is key let them be together for awhile. First rule of reptile breeding don't do it for need. Do it for love. There are very few that make any decent profit from breeding and it is a huge risk.
