Is Substrate Detrimental?

sw0rdf15h Jan 03, 2005 08:54 PM

I hate never seeing my frog. What is the minimum amount of substrate he needs? My heaters are on the sides so that's not an issue. I just want to be able to observe him.

Is it a horned frog? Sadly for us, they are really not happy being out in the open, and are therefore not really that much of a "watching" animal. I guess that their daily routine is not that exciting to watch anyway; sleep, maybe take a dump, maybe eat a few things, sleep, etc.
I like having pets that are "watchable" so I have several aquariums of fish.

My pac stays buried 4 inches in his substrate and never comes out. He has not eaten in 1/4 of a year and seems fine, fat and content.

At least he is happy

I don't expect to watch him dance or anything, I'd just like to at least see his head and be like; there he is! and when people come over I can show them, hey look at that frog, and they'll say "cool!" rather than "where is it?"
