What is the smallest amount of weight a female ball python will go off feeding?

kylescott Jan 03, 2005 09:46 PM

I have a 2 female ball that I have only had a month, they are both two years old. They were eating great with no hestitation and now they both stopped eating. One of the females is at 1500 grams and the other one is at 1200. I know it is normal for balls to go off feeding in winter. I am just curious, what is the smallest amount of wieght a fem has gone off feeding. I am just concerned about the 1200g female. Thanks

I have seen 200-400g male and females go off feed in winter. Sean

Any ball python at any age can go off-feed for the winter I currently, 6 of my 21 '04 hatchlings that I produced are off-feed. I am not concerned about this. They have good weight on them and will easily and healthily make it trough their "fast". Good luck, and don't stress it.

Most wild caughts will go off feed.
If you can maintain a normal warm temp.. they should eat.
My go off feed then it cools due to the temp/season change.
