advice needed for very near future

loneranger Jan 03, 2005 09:47 PM

ok, i feel like [bleep] enough so i'd appreciate advice along with any criticism. the door to my 6x2x2 cage just slammed n the neck of my argentine. she's about 6 foot long and just under a soda can in width at her biggest. it hit about 5 inches from the back of her head. she's moving fine, all parts of her body so no spinal injuries. her sides where it hit don't appear collapsed, so i don't think it cracked any ribs. i think i'm going to take her to the vet in the morning unless people thing i should wait it out. tonight's feeding night and she still appears interested in feeding, should i go with it?

thanks for anything,
pete

the hungry look in her eye made me cave, so i fed her. got a great response too. i guess that means at least a couple of days til a vet visit anyway. i'd still like to hear what you all have to say.

thanks,
Pete

It should be fine, these guys can take some pretty good shots and keep on ticking. The fact it fed shows positive
its nothing major.I would never have a cage with swing down doors so its unlikely I`ll ever have this type issue.Just be more careful in the future is all you can do,mistakes happen.
Just keep an eye on the impacted area and if theirs any drastic change take it in.Nothing really a Vet could do for it outside of confirming damage. There isnt any vital organs in that area so I really wouldnt sweat it.
