Yet another feeding question.....

jazzmachine Jan 03, 2005 11:44 PM

Hey all. Well I have gotten my first Jungle carpet just a little over three weeks ago. I have mostly balls and boas in my collection right now. I am really enjoying him and his "spirit". The only thing is, is that he has not eaten for me yet. I was told from the breeder that he was on f/t adult mice. I have tried a number of tricks, but no success yet. Temps are good, humidity is fine. He is quite an active guy, and enjoys the full use of his tank. I have tried placing him in a snake bag overnight with one, teasing him with one, putting one in a hide with him. I have not done live yet, because I am worried about harming him, so I would prefer other methods. Any suggestions from anyone out there would be greatly apprecciated. Thanks in advance.

Carpets in general are pigs, give the little guy some time and he will come around, If he is still young try a hopper, not too big but active enough to get him to pay attention to him. Also, I know with my carpets, When i first started feeding them dead, I would buy them live and then snap there necks minutes before i gave them to them and used a pair of tongs to feed them and after about a month whenever they saw the tongs they knew it was feeding time, and ive never had a problem with them eating.
