Hibernation?

spotsnbands Jan 04, 2005 12:16 AM

Over the past few weeks my beardie has eaten anything to my knowlage, which doesnt bother me much cause she seems to go through fases of this every so often. But lately she has just been laying under her paper (I dont use sand just news paper).
and before she started laying under there she would just be in the same place every day all day and night. I have heard a little about a hibernation period that some beardies go into for a couple months, does anyone else have this going on or is she just weird? Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks. Joe

Yep, sounds like brumation (hibernation). Get a fecal done, you don't want her brumating with a parasite load. Also get a base weight and check her once a week, she should lose very little if any during it.
