Motley Boas? Co-Dom Trait

DavidKendrick Jan 04, 2005 08:42 AM

I have read that the Motley Trait is a co-dom trait, just like the hypo trait, But it seems that their prices are staying up there? Is it cause not many people are working with that trait? The price of Hypos are down to under $350, while the motleys are still up in the thousands. I was just curious if people where working with them, and their thoughts on Why they are still up there in price.
Thanks

Just a guess here but....I would say that the price of motleys came in very high, and limited how many ever got bought in the first place. Also there were only a handfull produced and released for sale. Jeremy also had a horrible tragedy when he lost a whole bunch of babies due to a faulty heating product. I don't think Salmons and Hypos came in at the price they should have. Andy

with the super motleys being produced their price did go up / held there price. Jeremy producing the purple patternless and with Alex @ Boarepublic.com producing the Central American black patternless. I believe Central & Columbian Motleys are one of the best investments in the Boas right now.

Below pic of a Central American Motley, not my best pic but you can get the idea.

Has anyone produced the Dominant form of Arabesque yet? I know people are producing Albino Arabs, But what about a "Super Arab"????

I believe Steve Hammond had some listed in the classifieds a while back. They looked very nice, but it wasn't anything like a purple or black patternless.

Steve did do an arab. x arab. breeding this year, and some of the offspring were extreme looking. However, there did not appear to be a distinct division between the supers and non-supers; similar to the hypos. So, to date, no super arabesque has been proven to exist. These must be bred to be proved supers.

I could swear the ad simply called them supers, not possible supers. If that was in fact the first time the breeding was done, your correct, they would have to be bred to know for sure. But, if they were in fact listed as supers, I'd say he knows more than he's lead us to believe. I have heard it was not the first arabesque x arabesque breeding. So, who knows for sure? Were they listed as supers or possible supers?

I believe they were listed as possible supers.
