i just heard from an individual that these two don't intergrade, i've seen ads for this cross, so has it been done, has it been attempted and failed? why can't they intergrade?
Thanx

I've seen tons of ads for those. Maybe they don't NATURALLY intermingle, but may when purposely bred by humans.

thanx for your post. the situation was explained to me. i identified a snake as an intergrade when i should have said cross. it was just explained that they don't intergrade but they can be cross.
A friend of mine did breed an albino nelsoni to campbelli and most of the babies looked like campbelli so they have been bred.Adults then were bred and albinos have been hatched. Kind of scary though.
Why Scary? When I post this inquiry I saw a PIC of an F2 Albino. They look great, with orange instead of yellow. now i want a female (i'll keep my fingers crossed)
There are so many hybrids out there now why would anybody want to make more?Just take a look at the classifieds and every third ad is a jurrasic something or another?
The reason its scarry is cause someday there will be true albino pueblan (I believe there is now) and they won't be worth any more than a jurassic milk?
Why do you think Hardy takes so much heat about her albino Mexican Milks????????????
Because people can't just be happy with the awesome morphs we already have.
I dare anybody to show me a hybrid /intergarde whatever that looks better than a tangerine albino honduran or high red albino nelsoni or candycane pyro or etc.well you get the picture?

...why would (or do) folks still want to create more "mutts" out there? What is wrong with the pure subspecies (as pure as subspecies can be)? My own personal preference is keeping these forms as pure as we can. I guess to each their own, but I think that "mixing and matching" does nothing to preserve the locale specific forms that many of us came to know and recognize early on.

Yeah,I hear you all the way man.
I guess I will just never understand with all the killer morphs to play with within a subspecies one has to stray into the black cloud called hybrids?/LOL.

Shannon,
My dream has use to be to find an albino of any type in the wild and have the first of whatever it was. Now my nightmare is that I will find one and it will degraded by all the mutts in the hobby. Heaven help the poor guy that finds the first albino alterna, nobody will believe it! Really is a poor representation of our hobby in my opinion. But there are a large number of individuals that the main thurst of involvement in the hobby is to play Dr. Frankenstien with every animal they come across. I have gotten to the point where I refuse to sell animals to anyone that even asks "If a certain cross can be done". And as you know in most cases it can be done with many colubrids. In my humble opinion though it just messes up two good snakes. Can and have Pueblans and Nelsons been intergraded "yes", but I sure don't want any in my collection for sure. I will leave it to higher powers than me to produce the next new species on the planet. LOL
Just my thoughts,

Y'know, we could manufacture a butt-ugly milk and call it Smithi.
Add a bit of yellow Annulata and voila! Dixoni. Hopefully, I'm the first to think of that plan.......
Not as much fun as swimming the Rio Grande with a sack of crabby snakes but would be very profitable.
All for now, Jeff
Intergrade would be something that occurs naturally in the wild. To cross something would happen in a captive situation. Their ranges do not intersect as far as I know. I think you may be using the wrong terminology. Ric Blair
Thanx, now i understand what he meant. i'm new to the hobby, I just learnt sum-thin new 2 day.
Thanx again.
