What is the best thing to feed crickets before they are eaten??

ATLherp2131 Jan 04, 2005 11:34 AM

You hear different opinions about what to feed your crickets before they are fed to your dragons or geckos. What kind of food do you feed your crickets that you will have around the house?

thanks,

I used to use a mix of veggies. Carrots, leafy greens(same greens you would feed the dragons), maybe some beardie pellets, and some other veggies that I would give the dragons.

I feed mine whatever fruits and vegies I have at the time. They also get the stems from the greens from my dragons.

right now mine are eating a mix of carrots, potatos, apples and collard green stems.

All of my bugs eat basically the same thing, a mixture of laying mash, oatmeal and grain mix, bran mix, powdered milk, a little brewers yeast, and whatever else I have around when I mix it up (I mix it up about 100lbs at a time). Other than that, any leftover salad gets thrown in daily. For a waterer I take old peanut butter jars (plastic), drill a few holes in the edge of the lid, fill it with water and then invert it on a plate with paper towels. The paper towels will always be wet without having any standing water to drown them, works pretty well for me at least.
