help needed with my iggy

i have a 4yo male iguana he is very tame but over the last few days he has been acting very strange he seems to be getting very angry with himself and spins round furiously biting his tail he has never done this before could it have anything to do with coming near to mating season.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
