Burns from heat packs during shipping??

hummi22689 Jan 04, 2005 04:01 PM

I got 2 blue tongues today. They were in 2 seperate pillowcases, and the pillowcases were sitting directly on top of the 2 heatpacks, which were just 8-10 hr hand warmers. One of the blue tongues has some pretty nasty wounds on her feet. Could they be from the contact with the heatpacks? Any suggestions as to how to treat them other than antibiotic cream?

I recieved a Ball Python that was packed in a pillowcase with several heat packs in the bag with her. She had severe burns on her body. I don't know what to say, except clean the wounds with a weak Betadine solution and use an antibiotic salve. Bummer that folks can't put just a little more thought into this stuff!!

Good luck.

Silvadene cream is most commonly used on thermal burns.
