Need help identifying this animal. Is it an Axanthic? (!! DIALUP WARNING !!)

Hi,

I bought this girl in early 2004 and she looked different from the other bp's I keep. I did some research on Axanthics and I can't tell if she's one or not. The adult photo's of Axanthics are not too clear with respect to what differentiates them from normals. The consensus is that they have no yellow in them but I haven't seen many adult Axanthics to tell the difference. Do you think she might be an Axanthic? Thanks in advance....

Ron

How do you distinguish an adult Axanthic? I'm still baffled over this. thanks Joe!

two things that come to mind....check the lower sides of the snake and the eye stripe/"cheek". On an adult axanthic, there won't be yellow where the brown pattern meets the white. Also the eye stripe and lower "cheek" area (behind the eyes) will also lack yellow.
The trouble with this identification is that adults from the three established lines don't all look the same.
Makes me wonder if they are all axanthics or if what we call an axanthic is really axanthic. That is another topic though......
