I have a female veild chameleon and i was watching her from a DISTANCE and i noticed she had her mouth open. i was wondering is this a sign saying she is thirsty, or is that like a way for her to cool off.

If she is a nice light green and basking then she is just cooling off. What is her basking temp? Is she getting sufficient water? I find that Luna will open and close her mouth and "lick her lips" (the best a cham can - lol!) which tells me she is hungry.
When she gapes it is a good time to inspect her mouth (from a distance.

her temp. is 87 degrees and i spray her leaves 3 to 4 times a day, and yeah she is extremely bright green. so this is a good sign?
