Males top out at around 6 ft. A male is a good choice as it will fit in a 40 gallon tank fine. At 6 ft. a male boa would be eating a large to jumbo rat every 2 to 3 weeks. Good luck finding a boa and if its going to be a pet snake I recommend buying a baby 6 months or younger.
