What kind of montior?
My only reservation would be putting a juvi or baby monitor in such a large cage because it would make finding him & feeding him difficult for a while. Once they are established I would say the bigger the better especially for a monitor.
a am going to put a baby blue tail monitor in it.
yes, i have thought all that out and in such a big cage i would not put any bedding in it, i was thanking of putting that Zoo Med green carpet and having some kind of cushion under it. when it is small i would have the cage furnishing simple, but as he got bigger i would put more stuff in there.
i was going to put a automatic watering system in it, 2 or 3 150 to 200 watt spotlight Zoo Med Active UVB Heat(what do you thank about these),and 2 150 to 200 watt Heat Emitters.
thanks

Please keep in mind, that monitors come from nature, and normally(unless they fall in a well) its fairly large.
The point is, can big cages lose their effectiveness, and the answer is yes. But its not the cage thats the problem, its the keeper. If the cage does not contain what a monitor needs, or the keeper cannot control to cage to stay within what the monitor needs, then any cage can be wrong.
The larger the cage, normally means the more mechanics are needed to keep the entire cage suitable. But if you can control the cage, then the larger the better. So the answer becomes, if the cage is good, it cannot be too large.
This is true even for a baby monitor. With baby monitors, its more important that the conditions are right, as they do not have the mass to fight off bad conditions. Good luck FR
