Mystery Solved??

mike777777 Jan 04, 2005 07:59 PM

Hi. I just received a temp. gun in the mail today from Pro-Exotics. While checking out the temperatures of my various enclosures I discovered that my crested geckos have been "chilling" in temps from 60-70 during the day and 50-60 at night. Would this explain why I havent found any eggs produced by my male and female? Will moving them to a room where the ambient temps. range in the 70's give me better results? Any advice is welcome. Also feel free to laugh and point. Thanks

That may be the reason your geckos haven't laid eggs, but not necessarily. I would up the temps for a while and see.

No doubt about it, that would be the problem. Gotta love temp guns.

Ya. I figured as much. Thanks for the reassurance. I should be seeing eggs in a few weeks! Sweet.

i also had the same problem with my cresteds. i had the in the bed room. then moved them to the close in the reptile room where the avg. temp in the closet is 75 degrees and i started finding eggs about 45-50 days later.

.....if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your temp gun & where did you find it?

I've been wanting to get one of these but I've been told they're a bit pricy (and hard to find). thanks in advance.
