Expo's OK to get leo's...

We are planning to go to the Expo in NY on the 15th and are looking for a female to add to the pair (male and female) we have.We just set up a 40 gal,2 level tank for pair we have.We are leaving it empty for a few days to check for any problems with temperatures before they move in.(They are finally old enough to breed) We will have a 10 gal set up for the "new arrival" to keep her isolated for 90 days.My concern is buying from a breeder I cant check out before the sale.Is it better to buy online from a breeder I can check out or are the Expo's a safe place to purchase from???Are there any ?? I should ask...other then basic health and visual check that would be done before any purchase?

Expos are a great place to buy! Its the White Plains show, right? That's a very reputable show. And you can check out some of the vendors beforehand - there's a vendor list on the web site. not all the vendors will be on the list but some will.

I think its better than buying online. you dont have to pay shipping and you can see the animal in person. and meet the breeder. be careful or you'll come home with more than just one gecko

All reptiles you get regardless of where need to have a vet visit as soon as you bring them home. But if you know what to look for when buying a leopard gecko, then Expos are great places to get them.

Check out the link below for more info on how to pick out the right leo.

I'm going too, I can't wait. I went to the last one in November, got a couple of corns, it was GREAT! How do you get a gecko home, though, if it is really cold outside?
