160w MV bulb distance?

lele Jan 05, 2005 08:47 AM

Once again (2nd time), ZooMed replaced my PowerSun. They upgraded me to a 160w and I got it yesterday. I have been anxiously awaiting it due to Luna's MBD (I was using a repti-sun, which I will ultimatley go back to but felt she needs some serious UVB for awhile)

Anyway....when I had the 100W it just sat on the top of the cage and worked out great for her basking spot. I tried that this morning and her spot jumped to over 100 degrees- fast! For those of you with veiled's and use a Power Sun 160 what distance do you generally keep yours from basking spot? I know this will also depend on ambient room temp but just wanted some guidelines

thanks,
lele

I have one in my free-range setup. Its about 2 feet away from the vine. Its the top light in the pic. I dont think you are going to be able to use that unless your cage is REALLY big.
