I have to ask a few questions to most of the users of this forum;

1. When you bought your Burmese(s) did you not do your homework before purchase?

2. Did you not ask to see the animals feed before purchase?

3. Did the breeder/dealer not give you a contact Phone number or email address for any problems that may or may not arise?

I know that not all Burm owners fall into this category, it is genuinely worrying, the amount of people that use these forums to seek basic husbandry advice for these animals.

I am beginning to see the fuel for the R.S.P.C.A`s of the world.

I am under no circumstances entirely blaming the new owners for seeking help, in fact thats the first step to making the right decisions, I am concerned that as reptiles become more and more popular, that these basic husbandry points are over looked at the time of sale/purchase.

I do not expect any replies, I am just venting a little

Hey, venting is a good thing occasionally, keeps us from hurtin' things. If you don't mind, in answer to my situation, I was given the baby I have because someone thought is was to aggressive. Come to believe the aggression is from unshed eyecaps. When I put a little mineral oil on them ( hopefully to soften them up enough that they can be removed) she becomes calmer and also more receptive to foodstuffs. They knew I had other reptiles and thought I'd take care of it, and I will. As to the mites, In 40 years of playin' with snakes both wild and domestic, I've never come across them. Dumb luck I guess, but never had reason to study up on it.
