I have a really dumb question again but...What is the minimum size tank to keep a 2-3 inch RES in? I have him in a 10 gallon right now. Is that ok or should I upgrade?

While it is not horrible to keep him singly in a ten gallon at this size it is really pushing the limit and making it rather difficult to keep the tank clean.

A minimum of 20 gallons is still kind of pushing it.

Personally I would skip right to something 40 gallons or larger. That will at least buy you some time while he is growing.

There is this rule of 10 gallons per inch of turtle but it's more a space issue than a gallonage one. This rule allows for a pretty large space for the animal to swim around in.
