Vegetables and Fruits

Orocosos Jan 05, 2005 02:20 PM

What kind of vegetables and fruits can RES eat? My RES is going after the white cloud fish in his tank that has been in there for over a year. I want to try feeding him some variety to take his mind off of the fish.

Try lots of greens (dandelion greens, chicory, escarole -- water plants like Java fern are good.) You can give him occasional treats like grape or a bit of apple if he will eat it but the greens are the best way to go on a regular basis.

As far as the white clouds are concerned I am not so sure that feeding him other things will take his mind off of them. He will most likely continue to stalk them while enjoying all his new food treats. Best to remove the fish if you want to keep them alive.

My turtles love Romaine lettuce! Especially the real green pieces which I won't eat. At first they did not eat grapes or apples, and I used to have to scoop them out of the tank, but now they eat grapes and apples.

For protien every now and then they get small pieces of chicken or turkey and they love that too, but make sure they eat it or it must be removed from the tank.
