For those of you who have read about Lizzy's rescue on our website, you know what a wonderful little critter he was. Well, maybe not little. At one time Lizzy weighed 550 grams. He was a big, healthy boy.
On Dec. 18, Lizzy passed away. He started to look ill just before Thanksgiving and started to rapidly lose weight. To our dismay, we were not able to diagnose the problem. The vet was stumped, but he suspected cancer. He didn't have any parasites. It was as if he just didn't want to eat and gradually got very weak.
A necropsy was done after his death to uncover the cause of his illness. Lizzy had leukemia. I hope that he wasn't in a lot of pain, and he went rather quickly.
Lizzy was with us from August 2002 until Dec. 18, 2004. He was just over 3 years old. We enjoyed so many wonderful moments with him. That's why I'm sharing some of his photos with you. I don't want to include any of the recent photos where he looks ill, I want him to be remembered as he was - healthy and vivacious.
Here's the big boy...

One thing was for sure ... he loved his silkies!

Peek-a-boo!

Showing off his beautiful black beard. This is my favorite picture of him...

RIP Lizzy. We miss you!!!

Hugs,
Veronica

Anybody who knows you at all knows that Lizzy while here was spoiled, and was extremely loved and cared for. Great pics Veronica, and in each one you can see the happiness written all over Lizzy's face
He sure was a ham for the camera, and I'm sure for those silk worms too.
