A "poo" question about our rescue..

Drakosmom Jan 05, 2005 04:54 PM

We are going to the vet Thursday morning--Lizzabella gave us a rather messy sample today. Her nitrates were well formed--but VERY hard the rest was diarea--only a slight solid lump in mostly fluid.

I do know that the pet shop she stayed the weekend in was feeding the beardies iceberg lettuce...(I've discussed this with them many times). Her owners were friends with the store manager---It is no wonder she is in such bad shape.
BTW she is very alert and moves around very well. She is eating all live prey with gusto--she picked at her salad today only eating a few collards and a few adult pellets. The pet shop also had her on 'repti bark'. There were small splinters in her sample.
I ordered some Parazap today. My vet does know some about reptiles but is open to any suggestions. I'm getting nervous about her samples.

***she is in strict quarantine--absolutely no contact with our other dragon or anyone handling him.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The iceberg itself could have done it, it's mostly water and can cause diahrea. I'd still get the fecal done though, it could easily be parasites.
