Need Advice on My Adult Male Feeding. Please Respond.

catnipcutie Jan 05, 2005 08:40 PM

Hi again. This is the second time I posted this, only because I really would like to know if anyone knows why he did this?

I was trying to feed my adult male and he seemed to be having problems. He kept pushing his nose downward(very hard) into the floor of his cage. Then he started to hiss. He didn't eat this feeding time. What could this be?

Thanks.

He's probably not hungry and wanted to be left alone. Pushing his head against the ground probably indicated that he was trying to bury himself. Don't be alarmed if he does not eat for a few weeks or a few months..... winter fast.

Thanks Eric,

Actually he had (come to find out) an upper respiratory infection. The vet said he was most likely trying to get the mucus out of his nose. I've gotten the proper antibiotics for him and we are now treating him. The vet said he should start eating again after he feels better. But thanks a lot for your reply. I really aprpeciate it!

If he has RI, make sure you turn up the heat as that will help significantly with his recovery. I hope that you are keeping him by himself and not with another snake. Good luck!

Eric
