Look how big my guys have gotten..

I got them in the summer and can't believe how fast they grew. They were the size of a half dollar.
They're so cute!!! I did get a pissed off look from Squiggles when I took his picture. But then again he's the "do not touch me" out of the two.

Here he is...he's 3" now

Time for Spot. He's my favorite!!! He swims right on my hand when it's time to be moved to the feeding box. He likes to be hand fed too.

Very nice looking turtles. How much are you feeding them though?
If they have grown several inches in 6 months you may be overfeeding. They shouldn't really be growing more than an inch to and inch and half a year.

They look great now but if they keep growing at this accellerated rate you may encounter some health problems with them down the line.

Beautiful little guys though. Maps are among my favorites

When they were smaller, I fed them everyday.....5-6 mazuri pellets. Now I feed them 2-3 times a week. Maybe 10-12 pellets a peice. Spot likes boiled chicken and turkey so he might get a tiny peice 2 times a week. Is that too much? Doesn't seem like it to me. They gobbled it down and look for more.

Actually not at all. That feeding regimen seems fine. Try some greens on them too. Like chicory, escarole, dandelion green. My maps like to munch greens as well as eating shrimp, scallops, clams, talapia and just about anything else they can get into their mouths. What do you keep you water temp. at.

They really grew awfully fast and it does not seem that overfeeding is the issue. HMMMM --- well I guess it just goes to show you. Turtles never read the rule book!!

Yeah, Spot likes anything green. I've tried all those you mentioned. Squiggles won't touch anything other than the pellets.

The water stays around 74.
