Interested in a Frilled and doing my research

Patdf Jan 06, 2005 12:59 AM

Hello all,
I am interested in Frilled Dragons and would like to ask some basic questions. First, the only place I would have room for a custom enclosure would be in a small corner between two doors which would limit the size to a 30x30 footprint heights no problem at least 4 feet. Would that be large enough for one adult. I've read that they eat crickets, meal worms, pinkies, cooked eggs and canned reptile food. A main staple of crickets can be costly, could someone tell me how they mix the food proportions up. I'm assuming it must be spread out like say crickets one day meal worms etc. And I understand there personality is pretty docile. Could you explain to me how they are when handled. Do they try to run, if so are they reluctant to be picked back up. Could you have them on your shoulder while your on the computer, are they comfortable to just hang on you while you watch TV. Just trying to get a better understanding from owners. I've done reading on the caresheets but I would like actual expieriences. Thanks in advance for your help. Any other input and information would be greatful.

Regards,
Pat

My frilled is pretty chilled out but he is also three years old, during the first year or two he was a terror, always frilling, tails whips and bites, and they can bite, even though pople say they have weak jaws, but it doesnt hurt that bad, but you have to show him who is boss and put up with it if you need more info go to sundialreptile.com they have a awesome caresheet.

thanks

yes i would say that that is big enough. frillies will eat any thing that moves. some things mine eat that you did not mention is anoles, my female LOVES them, they also love can-o-worm, but in order for thim to know what is good (tasty)and what is not good you need to give thim the biggest food choice when they are little. whin they are little they learn what is tasty and what is not. watch closly to see what they eat more readly and what not. for Ex. whin my female sees an anole she goes crasy, but whin i feed her millworms she is not so crasy.

my frillies wll not stay still. if it is only me they will let me hold them for a will but they are 80-HD they never sit still for long. but when some one elts walks up they freeze and lay as stiff as a board.

ALL FRILLIES ARE DIFF but thats a good thing.
her is a pic. of her now
