Iguana taming

hornfroggy Jan 06, 2005 03:31 AM

I have had an iguana in the past, but she was already very nice when I recieved her. I just got a fairly young one three days ago, and he is pretty nice too. The question is should I let him hang out with me already, or should I leave him to figure out his surroundings for a few days. When I take him out of the cage he puffs up, and tail whips, but once I have him out for awhile he just sits there on the heat pad, or on top of me. he doesnt walk around unless I put him on the floor, or away from his heating pad. Is it ok for him to be out hanging with me this soon? Sorry for the post being so random. Thanks, James.

Also He isn't eating at all, so should I just leave him in the cage until he is acclimated? And I took the temperature of the heating pad; which is for humans, and it was about 90-95 degrees, and it has a towel over it. Thanks, James.
