JOSHUA KINGSNAKES

SNAKEGIRL1 Jan 06, 2005 10:11 AM

Does anyone know anything about the genetics of Joshua Kings or any other information related to this species of King? I'm looking to breed them but don't know what's recessive or dominant in their genetic structure.

What is a Joshua king? Do you mean Cal kings from the vicinity of Joshua Tree Nat'l Monument in the Sonoran desert of Calif near Palm Springs? If so, these are locality black and white desert Calif kingsnakes.

They're 95% white with some black striping. As to where they're found it's a tie between San Diego and Joshua Tree Ca. I'm questioning their genetics because they don't appear to be albino (they have black eyes, true albinism requires red). They're just really white (no yellow). I didn't know if this was an anomoly or if it was an actual outcome from captive breeding.
